South African Social Security Agency – SASSA

A disability grant is a government social grant made available by the Department for Social Development through the South African Social Security Agency or SASSA.

A person with a physical or mental disability which makes them unfit to work for a period of longer than six months, can apply for a disability grant at their nearest SASSA office.
